BioAutism is fortunate to have a team of highly commited board members who are passionate about this cause and who dedicate a significant amount of their personal time developing the charity as well as organising and attending events.
Robert is a registered Australian patent attorney with over 28 years of corporate experience in the international technology development arena with a particular expertise and focus on translating bench research into commercial products. He is currently CEO of the Bionics Institute, Executive Chairman of the commercial development advisory company, Magdajano Pty Ltd and a director of a number of other science based companies.
Alex is a senior marketing and communications professional with over 20 years working in the healthcare sector, including senior roles with multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She is passionate about ensuring people understand the importance of investing in, and supporting research in order to help discover the cause of health conditions such as autism, as well as develop treatments to improve the lives of those affected.
Nicola works as a research assistant at the Bionics Institute within the human hearing and neurobionics divisions. She is passionate about cognitive neuroscience research of
neurological and mental health conditions. Nicola works on projects that aim to develop biomarkers for individuals with hearing impairments, cochlear implants and Parkinson's patients
receiving deep brain stimulation.
Cameron is the Managing Director of bio101, a financial services firm providing accounting, tax and company secretarial services specialising in the life science sector. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Cameron acts as CFO and Company Secretary for a number of ASX listed life science companies and Venture Capital investee companies. In his role at bio101 Cameron has assisted clients in the IPO process and fills the role and acts as Australian Resident Director.
Anna Parle specialises in government communications and is Director of Community Resilience at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. She was recently appointed Victoria's Chief Resilience Officer and advises government on issues relating to social cohesion and social policy development. Anna sits of the Australian Government's Advisory Working Group into the prevention of violent extremism. As a strategic communications specialist, Anna brings a wealth of government experience to the BioAutism board.
Michael is a director of Business Development and Marketing Consulting firm LUX Mentis. He consults to a wide range of professional services and facility services organisations having worked previosuly in those sectors for a number of years. Michael has worked as a financial journalist with global news agencies and also in the finance sector at the start of his career. Michael is passionate about autism research and has a son who is on the spectrum.
BioAutism relies completely on volunteers and funds its lean operations through events and business sponsors. This ensures that 100% of donations made through this website go directly towards funding autism research.
